As requested, upcoming September performances

Hi all!

We are performing at PNE under the Rahma Belly Dancers September 4 (sunday night) at 7pm and 8pm. Each show is about 40 minutes and there are a ton of performers! Will be fun!

We will also be performing September 10 at the West End Community Centre for our teacher at 1:45pm. We have another performance for the Davie Street Days but I'm not sure yet what time it'll be at!

Oh! What an amazing week I had at Denman Island

I went to Denman Island for Lynette and Brownyn's Denman Island Dance retreat. Oh my god. . .it was amazing! We danced and ate for five days! And, somehow, I managed to lose weight eating lebanese food each day and having at least one chocolate bar each day (Denman Island Chocolate bars are amazing!)

We learned so many great things, had a lot of opportunities to dance to live drum, I met some great ladies (and a few wonderful cooks! The guys were in the kitchen cooking while the girls were dancing!) and I'm still tired! lol

The place where I stayed was great as well because there were five of us in the course that were staying at the B&B. . .was was awesome as well!! We would wait until the bakery was opened and then run for coffee! If you've been to Denman Island you know that there is one bakery, one general store and one deli. . . that's it! but was awesome!

What a better way to tell you what we do then to post some pictures!

Fun stuff and upcoming performances

So, Dance Arabia is going to be dancing with some over very lovely ladies at PNE again this year on the Multicultural stage on Sunday, September 4. We have two shows again this year, 7:00pm and 8:00pm and it's jam-packed! One of our favorite instructors Rahma Haddad is dancing this year again, and Devorah is also gracing the stage with us. If anyone has seen her dance, you know she's awesome! Of course, the lovely lady Diane, who organizes us for this event every year, is dancing as well (and she's quite nifty with the sword and cane!) If anyone is in the area, come watch the show! We will have many group performances, swords, canes, and much much more!

Vancouver Pride 2005!

Hi everyone. This is Dance Arabia Middle Eastern Dance Troupe after performing on stage at Vancouver Pride, 2005. We were performing on the festival stage after the parade! Man! Was it fun! If it's possible, the crowd was more responsive than last year! Carl from the Pride Society said this was the first year he had so much tits and ass on stage. lol.

Oh, in this picture from left to right we are Christie, Jennifer, Ghazaleh and Maki. These are the crazy Rock the Casbah outfits we came up with. And if you didn't get it yet, we are Middle Eastern dancers (or bellydancers). We've been dancing together for at least the two years and haven't grown tired of other yet!
